~Wolfie
When I got to the barn this morning, I headed straight to Ronnie's stall. He had his head out over the half-door, whinnying softly when he saw me. I grinned and reached his stall quickly.
"You ready for some outside time, bud?" I asked him. When he neighed in response, I laughed and headed to the tack room to find Ronnie's halter and a spare lunge line. Spotting the lunge line quickly, I scoured the room for Ronnie's bright orange halter. I spotted it on the floor in the corner, wondering how it got there, and headed back to his stall. I put the halter on him carefully, making sure all the clasps and buckles were secure. Once I was sure the halter wouldn't come off in a tornado, I clipped the lunge line to Ronnie's halter and opened the stall door, leading him out. I did a quick check over to make sure his cuts were healing, and then we headed outside.
Once out of the barn, I blinked in the bright sunlight. When I finally got used to the sunlight, I led Ronnie to the round corrals near the pastures. I opened the gate and Ronnie followed me inside the corral.
"Oh crap." I muttered, remembering my whip. "Stay here buddy." I told Ronnie, then climbed the fence after tying the lunge line out of the way. I hurried back to the tack room, grabbed my driving whip, and came back out to the corral. Ronnie nickered a greeting, and then we got to work. I had him trot around the edge of the corral a few times, then decided to have him canter. I let the tip of my whip touch his hindquarters and said "Canter." He went into a canter like he'd done it a million times. After a few rounds of cantering, I said "Whoa", and pulled Ronnie towards me.
"Good boy, Ronnie." I stroked his nose and unhooked the lunge line, placing it strategically on the fence so it wouldn't fall. I started walking around the corral, clucking so Ronnie would follow me. He just stood there, looking at me like I was crazy. I sighed and heard someone laugh. I looked up and saw a girl, someone I'd never seen before.
OOC. Sorry this is so long.
